The Makings of Summer
It’s been a whirlwind of a first summer here at Island Darkroom since opening the doors in April; the amount of support and response to the photographs and space has been wonderful - and it’s only the beginning!
Since then, all sorts of new makings and creations have been developed. If you follow the Darkroom on social media you’ll have seen the new Cyanotype and Harris Tweed textiles now lining the shelves. Developing the work in response to the changing seasons is part of what makes every print unique. I’ve been discovering new plants all the time, from cuckoo flowers to beautiful summer grasses that I never paused to consider before creating cyanotypes from the croft.
Now I’m so pleased to be able to share this joy in making and provide details of the new workshops and courses now available at Island Darkroom here on the website.
From basic introductions in analogue photography, to group sessions in cyanotypes and printing your own silver gelatin prints in the darkroom, there’s something for everyone to try. Whether you’re looking for a different one-off experience on holiday or a more in-depth weekly course, get in touch to book your place.
